In just one week since she was moved to hospice, Mom has taken a turn for the worse. The hospice nurse reached me yesterday morning and said I should come as soon as possible and I arrived just an hour ago to find them administering morphine.
Now, I wonder if I will get to see her gaze again, as she labors to breathe, and does not seem like she is conscious. I can only hold her hand, and rub her feet. Put on cold compresses to keep her fever down. Things are overwhelming.

They just told me I can stay overnight. I wish there was more I could do.
