Descansos ’22


Bursts of color on the barren roadways of New Mexico.

There are dozens I cannot stop for. Yet each one I pass inspires me to silence.

For “Shorty,” Amanda Maez. Teen-aged big sister to two brothers. She loved poetry. County 599 and East Frontage Road.
